Liam Beard
BS, CSCS
Liam is a co-owner and head trainer at PowerHaus Fitness and Performance. Liam is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Liam is a former division one college quarterback and graduate from UTSA where he obtained a bachelors of science degree in kinesiology with a concentration in exercise science. Liam is extremely passionate about helping adults and athletes reach their full potential in health, fitness, and performance. Throughout his years of training Liam has helped is clients and athletes drop body fat percentage, build muscle, increase speed, increase strength, and increase power. Tony Gennusa
MS, CSCS
Tony is a co-owner and head trainer at PowerHaus Fitness and Performance. Tony has been in the personal training/strength and conditioning field since 2016 where he has trained clients of all ages, sports, and skill levels. Throughout his career, he has helped his personal training clients reach their goals of fat loss, muscle gain, and body recomposition. Tony has also helped athletes of all sports achieve their goals of increasing speed, strength, and power. Tony’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology & Exercise Science from Texas Lutheran University, and a Master’s degree in Kinesiology & Exercise Science from Texas State University. He is currently certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). While at Texas Lutheran University, Tony was a 4-year starter on the baseball team and was named to the All-Conference team each year. His senior season, he was recognized by D3Baseball.com and ABCA by being placed on the All-West Region Team. Tony’s passion for helping his clients reach their goals is second to none. JB Brown
BS, CSCS
J.B. is a trainer at PowerHaus Fitness and Performance. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). J.B. graduated from Texas Lutheran University, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with minors in Biology and Education. During his time at Texas Lutheran, J.B. started as a freshman, became a two-way starter, and was recognized as a two-time All-Conference Wide Receiver, Team Captain, and Team MVP. After college, J.B. continued his athletic career in Arena Football before competing in CrossFit, powerlifting, and bodybuilding. He graduated from Refugio High School, where he was part of the 2011 State Championship team and received All-State recognition as a strong safety, as well as being named Team Captain. J.B. has been a personal trainer and coach since 2018, working with individuals of all ages, sports, and skill levels. He has helped clients achieve goals such as increasing speed, strength, and muscle mass, as well as meeting weight loss objectives. J.B. is passionate about guiding people to reach their fitness goals, no matter what they may be. He firmly believes that with consistent effort, hard work, and grit, any goal can be accomplished. With his extensive experience in various sports and training methods, J.B. is committed to helping clients succeed and check off their milestones.
Alex Freiburger
BS, NASM-CPT, USAW L2
Alex Freiburger is a trainer at PowerHaus Fitness and Performance. Alex is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, an USA Weightlifting (USAW) Level 2 Coach, and a certified Stretch Specialist. He graduated from Coe College with a Bachelors in Kinesiology, with a focus in Strength and Conditioning. Throughout high school and college, Alex Wrestled and competed in Track & Field, competing in shot put, discus, hammer throw, weight throw, and the 60m sprint. Now he competes in Olympic Weightlifting as one of the top 109kg weightlifters in the nation. Throughout his career in fitness he has worked with people of all ages and occupations to reach their fitness goals, ranging from building muscle, correcting imbalances, building strength/power,etc.
His philosophy on training is primarily centered around building a solid foundation around being technical proficiency and preventing injury, through mobility and functional training through many ranges of motion. Then pushing for strength and/or power to make anyone a better and stronger version of themselves.
